Solar-powered, deep-sleep ESP32 + LoRa node that logs to an MQTT broker at the house 800m away. Battery lasts a full season.
Requirements: no Wi-Fi at the allotment, 6-month runtime on a sealed battery, data posted back to Home Assistant. LoRaWAN on The Things Network handled uplink, cost £0 for our volume.
